Health, Public Services & Care Courses in Newham

Looking for a rewarding career working with children and young people? Our Newham Learning & Skills provides a wide range of care courses at the right level for you.

Do you want to improve your parenting skills or have a career in childcare? If the answer is "yes" then we have the course for you.

Our courses start with Childcare Level 1 courses where you can gain basic knowledge and understanding in Early Years Care & Education. The Level 2 courses will provide you with the knowledge and skills for working in childcare, planning activities, learning about OFSTED inspection, and managing unacceptable behaviour.

Learners enrolling on a course will undertake an initial assessment to ensure they are on the right level for them. Once enrolled on one of our courses learners will be studying in centres. Learners will also have the benefit of one-2-one tutorials.

Our care courses are designed to help you to gain employment within the Care sector or support further study and Higher Education. If you are interested in a taster session, we also provide unaccredited workshops and open online courses.

If you’re interested in a career in the Care sector, come along to our Health & Social Care, Childcare and SEND event at Gainsborough Learning Centre on Wednesday 6th July from 3pm-5pm.

You will meet local organisations and employers who will be able to advise you on a career in this sector and you will be able to discuss your qualification needs with ONLS advisors. You’ll be able to sign up for courses starting in September 2022 to avoid the last minute rush at the end of the summer. We’re looking forward to meeting you!
